Some corrections:
1 - After the 1861 civil war, the Ottomans probably did install a Christian governor. What I am sure about though, is that he was not a Maronite - who are either Lebanese or Syrian. Instead, the Empire imported him from one of its few remaining European provinces.
2 - Although Fouad Chehab was a popular president among most segments of the Lebanese population, he was NOT a Muslim. You might have made the mistake because of his relative popularity with the Muslims. In fact, he was so popular that some parochial Christians deridingly called him 'Mohammed' Fouad Chehab. I think it is important to note that the reason for his prominence was the fact that he was the first (and only) Lebanese president to actively pursue an agressive policy of rural development in the destitute regions of Lebanon.
