So depressing I don't know if I want to add or subtract from it.
This seems underscored: the role of technology within the military/paramilitary/police in ensuring
a tedious errosion of the effects of people's sovereignty, accompanied by renewed assaults on any future lever by which Americans may one day seek to reassert that sovereignty.

Time to cheer myself up with a batch of jello. See? I'm empowered.

Oh yes, now I remember why I took two months off posting. I was getting so depressed with the little part of the news I actually got around to writing about. You're absolutely right, that last line is really massively discouraging. I've got to pick myself up and pull myself together.
