Postcolonial Feminism
From Hobson's Choice
A current of feminism that incorporates awareness of imperialism in relationships. Often presented as a critique of Western feminist currents. However, usually takes the form of a multi-dimensional critique of existing social relations, in which colonialism and sexism are presented as a peculiar vector in relations. Instead of combining a man-woman tension with colonist-subaltern tension, there are four roles (colonist-man, colonist-woman, subaltern-man, subaltern-woman) and six relationships (CM-CW, SM-SW, CM-SM, CW-SW, CM-SW, CW-SM). Each one has a distinctive ethical contradiction.
