Southern Africa

A region of Africa used to refer to the nations south of Congo-Kinshasa and Tanzania. A compelling reason for treating this region separately is that the population density of Tanzania and Congo-Kinshasa is much lower than the region to the north or to the south, so that the Southern regions are culturally quite distinct from the rest of Africa.
